In 2012, Uzima launched farming projects in Embu, Eastern Kenya. In due time, other grassroots farming projects collaborated from Bungoma, Western Kenya, and Nakuru, Central Kenya. Eventually, we supported a grassroots initiation in Hanover, Jamaica. The projects included farming foods that fed some community members while providing stock for sale in order to run small businesses, dairy farming and processing to provide milk for families in need and to shops selling dairy products, and green houses to teach school children the importance of agriculture. Uzima is proud to have multicultural members who originate from the communities they provide help to in order to ensure needs are met directly to the individuals who need them.
